A little history...

Quiet Times Golf Course; built by Ray Meisner, opened July 12, 1974 by Ray & Clarine Meisner. It is in the township of Bennington, NY and County of Wyoming.

In 1972, the land was bought from Harold Stringham. Ray had an envision of a camp grounds with a chip-n-put Golf Course.

The Town of Bennington disapproved of the camp grounds so Ray built a Par 3 Golf Course. Lots of hard work went into the making of the course day and night with friends and family cutting down trees, moving dirt, picking rocks and planting grass seed.

Finally, July 12, 1974, the Par 27 was ready to play.

In 1979, the construction of the back nine of the golf course began. Again, lots of hard work and long hours with friends and family went into the construction.

The Par 31 back nine was open in 1982.

In 1985, Ray & Clarine bought additional land east of the current front nine from Paul Trauscht. Rebuilding began to include four par 4 holes.

On July 9, 1988, the front nine; as it is today, was expanded to a par 31. Holes #3, 4, 6 & 7 were extended to par 4’s.

July 1, 1998, Quiet Times Golf Course was sold to Ray & Clarines’ son, Roger and wife Sonya.

Lots of changes have been made over the years. Trees planted, women’s tees, leagues have been added and of course, friendships have been made.

None of this would’ve been possible without the support of our community, golfers, employees, family and friends.
