Crowdfunding for Food and Farm Businesses
Wednesday, May 25, 2022 (7:00 PM - 8:30 PM) (EDT)
Description
Are you looking for a large source of capital to support or to expand your farm or food business? Investment crowdfunding may be the perfect tool for you. Even if you are not farm or food related, you may be interested in how Crowdfunding works.
The average crowdfunding business has raised nearly $300,000. And the most successful businesses have been those run by women or BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) CEOs. The team with Food Future WNY can help you answer your questions and get started with a campaign.
On Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM, at the Ag & Business Center, 36 Center Street in Warsaw, join the Team from Food Future WNY and presenter Michael Shuman from SCALE (Sequestering Carbon. Accelerating Local Economies) at a free event to learn the basics of this grassroots tool of finance. Among the topics that will be discussed you will learn:
- How can a business prepare itself to be successful at investment crowdfunding?
- What crowdfunding portals are best?
- What’s the right amount to crowdfund?
- How can a business get started
Crowdfunding for Food and Farm Businesses seminar is hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wyoming County, the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce and the Wyoming County IDA in collaboration with the WNY Regional Food System Initiative.
